Bechdel Films is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to supporting and promoting female filmmakers.  We actively do this through our: Bechdel Film Series, Bechdel Film Festival and Bechdel Film Projects.

Bechdel Film Festival

Founded by Houston filmmaker Cressandra Thibodeaux, the Bechdel Film Festival is dedicated to supporting and promoting female filmmakers. The festival will take place, October 14-16, 2022 at 14 Pews @ 800 Aurora Street.  In addition to 30 short and feature films, we'll have panel discussions, Cocktail Mixers, and much more. Our Opening Reception is Oct. 14th @ 6:30PM. Our opening film is A WOMAN ON THE INSIDE with talk-back with films subject - Kristal Bush.

In addition to showcasing the best of independent cinema in short and feature films from around the globe, the Bechdel Film Festival highlights films in these three categories:

•    Short Films 
•    Films which highlight Native American Culture
