The Bechdel Film Festival is proud to present 6 amazing short documentaries, which have all been directed by talented female directors. 
 
Hey Little Black Girl, directed by Lyntoria Newton (12 minutes, 38 seconds minutes)
Sometimes even imagination is not a strong enough shield to protect us from the contamination of the world but once upon a time there was a little black girl. Through her imagination she propelled herself into a dimension of new surfaces with old echoes of the little black girls who came before her. This story is told through vignettes of little black girls of yesterday and today meeting viewers at the intersection between youthful imagination and adult reality. 
 
Drummer Girl, directed by Sophie Hexter (6 minutes, 18 seconds)
Her life changed in the blink of an eye. Music set her free.
 
The Women on the Bus, directed by Anne Lewis (13 minutes)

A young taxidermist and her trusty peacock must overcome their insecurities to win first place at the U.S. National Taxidermy Championships.
 
Take A Walk on The Wildside, directed by Lisa Rideout (15 minutes) 
A look at 'Wildside', one of Toronto's first cross-dressing stores.

Edith + Eddie, directed by Laura Checkoway (29 minutes)
Edith and Eddie, ages 96 and 95, are America's oldest interracial newlyweds. A family feud threatens to disrupt the couple's happiness.
